Retail Therapy.....

ModelMom's picture

Ok, I'm a girl, so I guess that means I love shopping. I have the gene, whatever....but I do love it. I am a different kind of shopper than most of my female friends though. I love to go into a store, grab what I want and exit quickly (after paying of course!). I have never had the patience to browse, sort and sift through anything, which is why I am not the girl with the cool vintage wardrobe, because I loathe spending more than 5 minutes in a store. Then it becomes a burden rather than retail therapy.

My latest craze has been shopping at the local health food store. I can't get enough salad and fruit for some reason. And this coming from the girl who earlier described herself as a junk food junkie. Maybe it's the heat, or maybe my body is just telling me that it needs to eat something other than fried crap on a bun....but salad, all kinds of it....fruit, greens, pasta......oh baby, it sounds good to me. So I have been making daily little retail therapy excursions to the health food store and their salad/deli counter.....salivating all the way. And I think I have finally found something to spend money on, that I don't have to feel guilty about.....health food...and everybody's gotta eat, right!?

I must not be a girl

I don't really like to shop. If clothes that fit and look good on me would just appear in my closet, I'd be thrilled!

True!

I generally have a closet full of clothes but I only wear the same familiar few things. I'm weird like that.

LOL! I do that too. I have SOOOO many clothes, and I wear the same few outfits. I also go through clothing moods. Sometimes it will be hoodies, sometimes t-shirts- right now, I keep wearing my pink crocheted poncho, and I hate pink and ponchos. LMAO!

my wardrobe....

ModelMom's picture

is pretty sad actually. contrary to popular belief, models don't get free clothes from jobs. only once did i ever get a free track suit for a major athletic company that i worked for and the client literally snuck it to me. must have been feeling really nice that day!

i am a cheap bastard so i buy most of my stuff at old navy, target and yes...forever 21. really bad quality but it seems to last me just fine. would i like to own something prada? sure, why not! do i? nope. and i too am stuck with my retinue of t-shirts, tanks and jeans. i might as well get rid of everything else in my closet! ;-)

Now, I'll admit, I didn't

IntricateGirl's picture

Now, I'll admit, I didn't know that. I figured that you do get to keep them, but I also figured that it's like Chuck Palahniuk put it in one of his books. (Paraphrasing here.) "Hundreds of seperates that combine to create three outifts." Now, what I mean by that is that the magazine pages are lined with corsets (which never mimic what a real body looks like) jeans that are slashed beyond all recognition, and fancy gowns that are perfect for meeting dignitaries, but lousy for shopping at Target. lol So you look great for a runway or photo shoot, but it's not like you're going to wear a corset or evening gown to Target. lol

In other words, I pictured you having gorgeous clothing from your shoots filling up your closets, but leaving you nothing to wear that you didn't buy yourself.

But if you want to be like them, you'll have to emulate. -Ayria

Wait til I open my ebay store...

I've always been into brand names and I have been known to spend 12 hours shopping at the mall.

In the next week or two, I will be opening an ebay store where I will be selling my kid's clothing. I have 7 so I have every size and both genders. Some clothing still has the tags. What brands? Gymboree, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica, Enyce, Limited Too, The Children's Place, JLO, Sean John and more... If you guys want I'll let you know...

You'll be able to see the auction with the link below...that's when I open the store. For right now, you can see almost every opportunity available to make money online. You guys might want to check it out! As a matter of fact, you might want to bookmark the site now, so that you can check it out later on...
