Relying On 3rd Party Websites for My RSS Fix

netvibes | rss | Web2.0

I don't know what to do. It's been what feels like days since Netvibes.com has been "upgrading their servers". I know this means nothing to most of you, but it means the world to me. It's where all my news is, all in one place. All my favorite blog feeds, my Slashdot feed, my various other news sources feeds.

And it's been down! I can't get to it! It's my startpage which I visit all day long, and I feel so... empty. I feel so out of sorts.

I guess I could go to all my favorite sites one by one. But no - that's so 2002. I just couldn't. What else can I do? Sit here and wait? Log into my Bloglines account, even though it's missing half my feeds?

This is what you get when you rely on a 3rd party website for your RSS fix. Torture, pure torture.

Brenda, I know what you mean!

I couldn't log into my google account several times this week and one of my blog hosts just disappeared. I googled them and came upon some article about the FBI shutting down some online gaming sites! I think they're gone and so is my entire blog! Pages and pages of it and I used it for a lot of the paid blogging! I don't know what is going to happen now. I wonder if they are going to ask me to pay them back? I explained it to one and they sympathized, but I still have to rewrite everything and resubmit! From now on, I'm only trusting estalished sites like blogger.com. I know they will be around for a long time!
