Ray Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451"

First published in 1953, when television networks were just getting started. Bradbury, with chilling accuracy, predicted our fascination with wide-screen television, our progressive absorption into TV reality at the expense of real life, and the manipulative uses to which that absorption could be put by governments and corporations.

Essential reading - especially for those obsessed with issues related to television programming.
