Pump Up The RAM

When I first got a computer, all the talk was about how much computer memory you had. This was a big issue, because too little meant that you couldn't do any gaming and your applications ran slowly. Computers are much faster these days, but computer memory is still an issue. Games take up even more of your PC's resources and if you want to multitask an upgrade might still be needed.

make any suggestions, so I will. It's not just enough RAM, but how much, and what type. Anyone running with less than 1GB of RAM is killing themselves; if you're on Vista, you'd best be shooting for closer to 2GB.

And, when it comes time to replace or add to your RAM, either take your computer part and take the chip with you or take it with you and have the people you're buying it from open it up and see what kind of RAM you have. Incompatible RAM can destroy your computer, and there are many different types of RAM, based on the age of your computer, your motherboard, and your operating system.
