Psoriasis - More Common Than You Think
Psoriasis is a common skin disorder that affects literally thousands of people each year. It can appear at any age, but usually, the normal is between the ages of 18 to 35. It is a skin disorder, which manifests itself with patches of dry, itchy, scaling skin, which are raised and quite uncomfortable and embarrassing.
You might have been suffering with Psoriasis for many years and have found no solution. Well, to tell you the truth, there is no real solution. All attempts at getting rid of this unsightly disease are temporary much of the time. The first thing I did, as I’m sure everyone does, is visit a dermatologist. At this time, you will be given, more than likely, an ointment or cream. These usually work on a temporary basis, but only if you use them as directed. You might also have to try many different ointments of creams before you find one that works for you.
I have had Psoriasis since age 34, so I have had it for 19 years now. The only way I ever got rid of it for a few years was to visit the tanning beds often, as the UV rays are what clears it up; however, now, after so much tanning, I have damaged my skin, so, needless to say, I stopped tanning about five years ago. Now, I’m suffering again.
A dermatologist may also recommend PUVA treatments, which are much like the same thing as a tanning bed, only you have to take a pill prior to going in the “stand-up
