Problems With Paint

I've written before about some of the perils of picking paint colors. When we picked the color for my daughter's bedroom it was supposed to be yellow. But citronella yellow turned out to be more green than yellow, so we had to undertake a systematic campaign of misinformation, until she was happy to say that it was a greenish yellow.

Similarly, the blue in our office was bright and streaky, kind of like being trapped in a neon sign. Turned out the painters had got it wrong and repainting fixed the problem. The rest of the house was ok, with the warm honey white a particular favorite. What's your worst painting disaster?
