Possible New Test to Detect Breast Cancer

The International Journal of Cancer announced that scientists discovered a new protein, called mammaglobin A, which could, very soon, be used to detect breast cancer.
The research identified two different types of the above mentioned protein, and concluded that the heavier type was found more often in hormone receptor-positive cancer, which is a type of breast cancer that can be successfully treated with hormone therapy.
Researchers also concluded that the detection of the heavier type of mammaglobin A may possibly be an indicator of a more favorable outcome.
