Pop Tarts...Is there any difference between the off brand and Kellogs? Or How My Son Survives in College

My son tells me not to buy off brand Toaster Pop-Ups because he can tell the difference between Kellogs Pop Tarts and the cheaper store brand.

Come'on....How many Pop Tarts can the kid eat anyway?

I buy the cheaper brand because they are a lot cheaper. I'm talking at least a dollar per box and he goes through a lot of boxes. He claims it's all he has time for before class. I say if he got up thirty minutes early he could make himself breakfast. I think he needs to sign up for later classes.

This weekend I am going to Dollar General and buy Clover Brand taoster tarts in his favorite flavor...blueberry I think. I am also going to buy Kellogs Brand Toaster Pop Tarts. Then...I am going to give him one of each...will he be able to tell the difference???...we'll see.

Now, if he liked a wide variety of tarts, then I would say...get the kellogs because no one offers so many different choices...but seeing as how he likes blueberry what the **** difference does it make? Is it really possible to tell the difference between the name brand vs the off brand.????..time will tell.

I can tell the difference. I guess it depends on how much the difference is which I would buy.

I buy Kroger-brand "toaster pastries" generally. On the rare occasion I buy the real thing, my husband tells me to go back to the cheap stuff - he says they're better! I guess it's all in personal taste - no pun intended!
