hello, I've been playing baseball for almost 15 years and pitching for 8 years. I'm barely relizing what I need to do in order to increase velocity. Many people who try and never succeed are not doing all the things necessary to succeed or even see any type of progress. A little background about me, i've been pitching for 8 years like i said and i'm bearly getting into my physical prime. My past season, i've been able to reach 93mph on my fastball, but throughout the season I sat about 88-90mph. Your probably asking yourself, what happend to the 93mph. Well I'm going to tell you why I was not producing the velocity I knew i could pitch at.
Here comes the interesting part. When I began to raise my velocity was exactly when I was doing certain drills to gain strenght. Each day I felt my body beginning to get stronger. I kept up with the drills throughout the fall, but then slowly began to reduce the amount of drills I was doing, untill I finally was not doing the drills anymore. After a couple of weeks my velocity dropped and began to stay at a constant velocity 88-90mph. I was able to reach 93 mph, but why could I not maintain the same velocity throughout my baseball season? I am now in summer ball with my college team and am able to sit at a constant 91-94mph. If your interested in getting details on the drills I mentioned, then you can E-mail me at
