Pirates in business suits

A pirate - that was what i was going to be, mightily drifting at foreign seas, not caring about a world built by society, economics and history, a world solely governed by the weather and myself.
That dream is long gone now, I was captured by the towns' elders and I now have to be what they crowned me to be.
Everything seems logical and believable once you get yourself into it and keep swallowing that herbal pill that the town's chief recommends.
That odd little guy says it summons the spirit of wisdom, truth and happiness. Love was never written in his scriptures.
So be it, I let them remove my hook and let my hand grow, the eye patch goes too, I'm growing a new set of eyes, Its magical, I can almost still get lost in all of these things.

I love your spirit
Yes, that is exactly what you need to do! Become that pirate in ways that will fit into your reality. So what if you can't sail the seven seas! You CAN attack each day with the passion of Red Beard or search for meaning as though it were a lost treasure (which it is!)
With each new task you set for yourself, you can (in your mind's eye) envision a vast ship and the faraway horizon as your tools for victory!

i changed a few details, i haven't figured out why i can't stand the last one.
Thank you, alone
That is marvelous anbd I'll save it on my computer. I know why you hate the end bit - because your heart still longs for the dream. It's ok, though. When you find your new dream, it's perfectly ok to keep hold of at least part of the old one.
