One pattern of distorted thoughts causing anxiety, is considering like a catastrophe that things haven’t come out as we wanted to be, that is to say that our plans are not simply as we imagine them.
To think that is something absurd and foolish. People frequently act as if the world will always be adjusted to their plans and the things they want. We feel wounded and thwarted when things don't happen as we wanted. There is a hard reality but certain. In this world there is not anything guaranteed. Our world is always variable and inconsistent. The world doesn't turn around us, rather we turn around him. Therefore we should not live hoping that things be always as we imagine them, because then this will bring us a lot of frustration.
When we see something that we don't like, we should not react as if this was a personal insult or like is something that exists with the unique intention of making us feel unsuccessful. If something displeases us, we should do everything possible to change or to improve this situation. When we cannot do anything, we should search the psychological patch amid such a condition.
Frequently we tell our children that cannot always get what they want, however in subtle many ways we as adults make the same error of which we want to rescue our children.
If we think that everything have to be adjusted to our will, we will be accumulating nuisances and unneeded anxieties. It is not a catastrophe that things don't happen as we plan them, neither it is an enormous tragedy that the circumstances are not adjusted to our will. We will never achieve things to be 100% the way we want them. We have to learn to live with that reality.
