Party Points!

Anyone find out yet about all these party points? I thought we get to exchange them for prizes or something... How many does it take to get my rent paid or for a car payment? Let me know if you know anything more than I know about them!

No "Party Point" news yet

At least none that I've seen. I'm sure Brenda-behind-the-curtain will tell us when she's making enough money to buy prizes for the points leaders. (To be honest, I wish she didn't have them. I wonder if maybe she's wishing the same thing.)

Might be worth checking out Admin's blog or the User Guide periodically for updates.

Party points: it's how some people behave

I don't intentionally "collect" Points. I find myself with a lot of them because [choose one]: (a) I enjoy writing; (b) I'm a garrulous old Polonius who can't shut the [deleted] up; (c) I'm addicted.

There are others here who seem to post or comment exclusively for the purpose of getting Points. I find such behavior annoying - but also don't see how you can avoid it or stop it. Hence my reservations about the concept.

Party Points Adding Up!

Yeah they just may pay off someday! I don't do this for party points though and if I did, then I am in big trouble! But they seem to be adding up quick!

Party Points Purpose

What are the party points purpose? Is it to make it competitive and force people to get on the number 1 spot by posting stuff?

Points Are to Encourage Writers

Well mrjohnnyzone....you can take it that way. I don't think that was the purpose however. I think that the party points are to encourage writers to write more often and so that we interact as a community here. And with a community that gets along we would have more traffic here, leading to more click ons on our ads.

If people enjoy a website they will return to that site and recommend it to others and so on.... I don't think anyone is being "forced" to compete.

I think it is a cute title and I'm not bothered that at the moment (or even in the future) they don't turn into something. But I do check others points sometimes - the whingers that claim they aren't making money - and they have 20 points. Grrrrrr.
