As the first rays of the morning sun pinkened the scattered clouds overhead, young designer, Ashley Prince turned into the underground parking lot of her apartment. Having successfully ignored her brief encounter prior, she was more intent on getting to her shower room and her bed. Parking herself in her own lot, she exited her car and made her way to the elevator which hence took her to her apartment directly. It was actually a penthouse on the upper floors. Spacious yet demure by her standards.
Upon entry, she checked her messages on her answering machine. There were 3. One was from her partner, Jake Montgomery from the studio, reminding her of a meeting this evening with a potential buyer; the second from her best friend, Lucy Wagner, who asked for a late lunch together at a local diner at 2 p.m.; the third was from her ex-boyfriend, Josh Carlington, he just wanted to say hello and see how things were going at the studio for her. She was tempted to return them all, but thought it would rather be better to jump into her shower instead. So she headed for her bedroom, taking off her high heels and skirt as she went. Tossing them onto her bed, she undressed the remaining clothes and padded into the bathroom, ran the water and jumped in wholeheartedly.
Twenty minutes later, she felt much better and refreshed. Robed in blue satin, she relaxingly paced to her kitchen fridge. A bottle of white wine and a chocolate eclaire donut became her snack for the moment. Lazily, she reclined on her couch, turning over the days events in her mind. Somewhere in all the memories, the distinct memory of the stranger returned and she was intrigued. He had seemed like an apparition at first, but upon remembering, she recalled his every feature. Not like her prior boyfriend's but darker, more mysterious like someone from a silent movie. She couldn't place it but she knew this stranger somehow. It was a fleeting feeling but intense. This was different, she mused. A total stranger, presenting himself to her, like Valentine. Interesting. Perhaps she'll meet him again.
Done with her reviews of the mind, she returned her bottle to the fridge and headed to bed for a long deserving sleep. A sleep that was piqued with images of her mysterious stranger.
