Going back to the guy who is out on parole for attacking my family last year on christmas day.
Once again he's been allowed to stay at his parents over the weekend. Only this time he's had some of his parole conditions removed! Of course he would you're thinking, he's probably behaving himself?
Well I'd like to say yes, I'd really like to say yes, because that would mean something progressive had happened. Unforuntely it's not the case. Since coming out he's been unable to control his drinking. He's failed every breathalyzer and piss test, and had the police called on him twice during his "home stay's for behaving himself as well as possible".
Now by "behaving himself as well as possible" I mean breaking every single one of his parole conditions. Now personally I would have sent him back to prison to serve the remainder of his sentence, and every single person I've spoken to has said the same thing.
How does his parole officer and the parole services respond to his behaviour? Well they lift the drinking and fighting conditions from his parole because "he's having a hard time following those rules". (This is what the parole liason officer told my sister!)
What a wonderful modern world we live in!
