Palm Sunday- Jesus comes to Jerusalem

Today is the celebration of Palm Sunday. What a joyous occasion! Jesus enters Jerusalem on a donkey to cries of "Hosanna". The children and people waved palm branches and set their garments down as a gesture of respect as Jesus comes into the city. Those in attendance would never know that in just a few short days, Jesus would be put to death.

Palm Sunday reminds me of a parade. It is a time of joy, excitement and anticipation. Children are running about, cheering, and shouting. But the parade of Palm Sunday is just the beginning of the real reason for Easter. The joy of the parade quickly turns to sorrow and mourning. Palm Sunday just sets the stage for the last supper, the
Garden of Gethsemene, the crucifixion and finally the resurrection.

The parade of our lives is just a prelude of what is yet to come. Our Christian lives just lead up to the eternity in heaven. The joy, peace, and worship that we experience just prepare us for the great eternity. So, as you live this week of Easter, remember that Jesus died for us. There is no greater love. His resurrection from death conquered sin and death so that we can have everlasting life with God in heaven. Enjoy the parade!

My thoughts about Palm Sunday is "how fickle can a crowd be". I also ask, "were these the same p[eople who later shouted crucify him?". There was the King of Kings riding on a donkey. Surely, there could have been a horse, but the prophecy HAD to be fulfilled. It was still a triumphant entry to Jerusalem because THAT was the start of OUR SALVATION. :) Be blessed. Easter brings a "new" day. New healing, new nercies.... it is a season to rejoice ! He is risen!

Yes, I too have wondered how so much could change in just a week. The crowd certainly turned their backs on Jesus. They treated him like a king when He first came into Jerusalem, yet was brought before Herod and Pilate for blasphemy and trying to overthrow the government. As you say, the prophesy was fulfilled.
