Paid to blog or Google Adsense?

I've been doing quite a few paid to blog posts and I've found the programs do pay. I have a few other blogs which are registered with them and although I don't get many offers it helps to make some money from blogging. But I don't know if it is such a good idea. I'm a member of Smorty, PayPerPost, Blogitive, Blosvertise, Loud Launch and others. What's your opinion of the paid to post programs? Do you think it's better to just blog and use advertising revenue from Google? But I'm still not making much money from Google Adsense on my blogs yet and I know some bloggers make $1000's from paid to blog sites.
