OVERCOMING MISERY AND TENSION, THOUGH WE MAY SOMETIMES APPEAR TO BE OUTLANDISH/FOOLISH
FREAK OR HAPPY?
Some people may appear to be grossly unconventional when they speak something which does not fit the occasion. Some times the speaker though looking foolish, may have some positive thinking which helps him to relax, avoid tension and misery and stay afloat.
STORY
There was a king. One day he cut his thumb, while practising with his sword. It could not be fixed back. He consulted his minister. The minister said "amtaa mana mamchikee" (EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS IS FOR OUR GOOD). The king was annoyed and ordered imprisonment of his minister. He appointed a new minister.
The king expected the old minister to beg pardon. The king wanted to free him, if he begs for forgiveness.
The old minister said 'amtaa mana mamchikee' (EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS IS FOR OUR GOOD).
One day the king and the new minister went to hunt in a dense forest and lost his way. Some barbaric barbarians caught both the royal folks to a nearby temple for sacrificing. They found that while the new minister was strong and fit, the king had no thumb. An incomplete handicapped person is not fit for sacrifice. They sacrificed the new minister and released the king.
The king came back to his city and went to the prison cell of the old minister.
King: What you said on that day is true. Whatever happens, it happens for our good. As I lost my thumb, I was found to be unfit for sacrificing, and the barbarians released me. The accident on that day saved my life. I beg your pardon for jailing you unnecessarily.
Old Minister: 'Amtaa mana mamchikee'
King: 'You have not left your foolishness. I thought that you are a changed man after the solitary confinement. NOw justify your statement or else I shall get you beheaded!'
Old Minister: 'My Lord! It is very simple. I have all my body organs. I am fit for sacrificing. Had I been a minister, I would have accompanied you in the hunting expedition. I would have been killed by the barbarians. You have saved me.'
The king was happy. The Minister regained his job.
Not that everything we come across in our life will ultimately leave to joy, but by grieving on spilt milk repeatedly, we gain nothing. Hence, the need for positive thinking.
