Our Religious President will Veto the Children's Health Insurance Bill

While President Bush touts and woos the Christian coalition, his actions are far from Christian. He has stated that he will veto the Children's Health Insurance Bill. He says it will take away funding for poor children. At issue is the state-federal program that subsidizes health coverage for low-income people, mostly children, in families that earn too much to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to afford private coverage. It expires Sept. 30.

Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell said that if Bush doesn't sign the bill, 15 states will have no funding left for the program by the end of the month.

A bipartisan group of lawmakers announced a proposal Friday that would add $35 billion over five years to the program, adding 4 million people to the 6.6 million already participating. It would be financed by raising the federal cigarette tax by 61 cents to $1 per pack.

Bush has promised a veto, saying the measure is too costly, unacceptably raises taxes. THEY ARE RAISING THE TAX ON CIGARETTES!!! NOT YOUR TAXES....unless you happen to be a smoker.

Also, this Christian leader vetoed a raise for the war widows saying they get enough already.

Yeah...the same guy who has millions in the bank, sends our beloved children off to war, and spends TRILLIONS on HIS war....won't fund war widows and children's health care......NICE GUY.....ISN'T HE?
