3. Insuffecient Calcium Intake

Five Steps to Bone Health and Osteoporosis Prevention:
•Get your daily recommended amounts of calcium and vitamin D.
Depending on your age, an appropriate calcium intake falls between 1000 and 1300 mg a day. Vitamin D recommended a daily intake between 400 and 800 IU per day,
•Engage in regular weight-bearing exercise
•Avoid smoking and excessive alcohol
•Talk to your healthcare provider about bone health
•When appropriate, have a bone density test and take medication
