Orlando

Prepare yourselves. You may not believe this, but a certain Southern US city purports to be the world's most popular tourist resort. According to some sketchy figures released in 2000, 43.3 million people took time out from the slings and arrows of outrageous slavery to spend a week or two in the garish plastic paradise that is Orlando. Naturally, this is an enormous boon to the area, both economically and, one dares to presume, culturally. In addition, for the rest of us it provides a welcome reassurance that, for a few weeks at least, some of the more heinous human sludge is out of town.
If your thing is white polyester shorts and sports shirts, then the place to be is downtown Orlando, where you can enjoy one of the exquisite Orlando Vacation Home Rental at such incomparable resorts as Thorton Partk, Lake Eola Heights, Lake Lawsona, Lake Copeland and Lake Cherokee. So many lakes, so little time (to drown as many drones as possible). Bear in mind, however, that downtown also claims to be "trendy", an inevitable mindset in light of the hundred-weight of Tommy Hilfiger branded garbage fluttering through its expansive, air-conditioned shopping malls.
To complement Orlando's style, there's a marvellous climate of year round sunshine, which guarantees a perennial stench of bodily odour and angry, confused and overheated vacationers. There's also a countryside somewhere out in the sticks that claims to resemble the UK -- all rolling hills, oak trees and disenfranchised agriculturalists. Horses are bred here too; no doubt as a means to escape the ineffable tedium of the place, either through elegant flight or suicidal stampede. The Everglades are also within walking distance (if you have a few weeks to spare), where you can find a crocodile to relieve you of the burden of 2.4 children and a squeaky, overbearing wife.

*Web Release* Today, Orlando welcomes more visitors each year than the population of California - over 43.3 million (2000 statistics), which makes Orlando the number one tourist destination in the world. Most of them stay in one of 100,000 hotel rooms and visit 7 major theme parks. The current population of Orlando is approximately 185,000 and the Metro-Orlando population is over 1,500,000. Orlando continues to be one of the fastest growing communities in Florida as well as the United States. To no surprise, a large part of the Orlando area economy is involved in the tourist industry. Tourism surrounding Orlando is worth billions of dollars to the area's economy. Tourism is a very rewarding field to be a part of and Orlando has many opportunities within that industry. Beyond employment opportunities, Orlando is a great environment to enjoy your leasure time and raise a family. The Central Florida area - all 7 counties - offers a wide range of life styles for all ages. This includes real estate in upscale gated neighborhoods; golf course communities; charming, old-fashioned towns, rural communities and areas with excellent schools. If you are looking for an urban lifestyle, downtown Orlando is the place to be. Downtown Orlando is a mixture of historic homes and luxury condominiums with great views of the city. It has seen tremendous growth during the last 5 years, with 19 new and conversion condominiums, which have been completed or announced. You can enjoy vintage homes in the historic neighborhoods of Thorton Park, Lake Eola Heights, Lake Lawsona, Lake Cherokee, and Lake Copeland. Downtown is trendy with diversity of restaurants, retailers, discos, and bars all within walking distance. With close access to beautiful Lake Eola, you can enjoy festivals, outdoor concerts, or a gondola ride on the Lake. The sports complex, theater, and opera are all located centrally makes your entertainment venues easily accessible. The focus on family living spurred residential development on the edge of downtown called Baldwin Park, a traditional neighborhood with architecture reminiscent of the pre-1940's era in Central Florida. Imagine the perfect Florida vacation ..you work hard year round and holidays are the opportunity to spend quality time with your family and what better destination than Florida! Exciting theme parks, glorious white sandy beaches and a warm welcome from the locals who love to see visitors enjoying themselves. On top of all this is the wonderful climate and year round sunshine - your family deserves a wonderful holiday and so do you too! Think of Florida and you will probably imagine theme parks and sunshine but there is so much more to this wonderful southern state. A 45 minute drive from the theme parks takes you to countryside very similar to the UK with rolling hills and oak trees. Here you are in horse breeding country. Travel south and take an airboat ride across the Everglades or take advantage of some of the best shopping opportunities in the USA.
