Yes, Belknap Springs Resort DOES Require Guests To Wear Bathing Suits!

Several weeks ago, we spent my husband’s birthday at Belknap Hot Springs near McKenzie Bridge, Oregon. It is a gorgeous resort we try to visit several times a year.

The resort consists of a huge lodge built on the banks of the beautiful McKenzie River. The resort offers not only lodge rooms, but also a few small cabins, and RV and tenting spaces. One very large cabin is available for groups.

We usually opt for an RV space for our 23 foot 5th Wheeler for the paltry sum of $20 a night, which includes all the free swims we want in either of their two hot pools.

The gardens are gorgeous any time of the year, but right now, early flowers like daffodills are begining to fade, and the flowing cherry and peach trees are in full blossom. The roses will be out in a few more weeks.

There are well-maintained walking trails in the beautiful Oregon forest and, close to the end of the trail, a circular garden with a high rock wall around it. Inside are small waterfalls, a large central fountain, and a place with tall, marble-looking columns where wedding ceremonies are often conducted. Flowers abound.

The two hot pools are full-sized swimming pools and maintained at a temperature between 99 and 101 degrees most of the time. The upper pool is reserved for those renting cabins and RV or tent spaces, while the lower pool is mostly used by the lodge guests. We usually use the upper pool and have often found ourselves the only occupants. What luxury---a full-size swimming pool all to ourselves.

A continental breakfast is served to lodge guests, and a tiny store with very basic commodities is maintained inside the lodge. The nearest restaurant is about 5 miles to the west of the resort. For a few months each summer, there is a chuck wagon type food place just outside the lodge but the menu is fairly limited.

A river rafting and guide company also operates out of the resort, and a good golf course is available a few miles down the road.

Well, enough about one of my favorite places in the universe. Just wanted to let everyone know, especially our pastor, that we never head to the pool without our bathing suits.
