Oprah for Vice President in 2008?
I was watching the news tonight and I saw a story about Hillary Clinton asking Oprah to be her running mate for the 2008 election. Then I turn on this show called Scarborogh Country and they're debating it! What do you think of this?
According to SC, Oprah actually could pull in tons of votes because she is so popular. People really do trust her and she has so much control of the media.

I don't know anything about Oprah's politics, but if she wants to do it, I'd say "Go for it!" If it's between Clinton/Winfrey and Jeb Bush and anyone, I know who I'm voting for.

Wow I'd think twice before i vote for that duo. Other than being a personality show celebrity what does Oprah have to offer?
With all her millions how far has she reached out to her own black community.
Please look at the depth of a person don't perpetuate this hollywood celebrity personality cult worshiping culture the Americans has taken up.

The Oprahs of this world are just that, Hollywood celebrities thirsting for your adoration all the time. They excell when receiving your applause but in the face of serious human tragedies they just do cosmetic wishy washy stuff to keep up with the applause.
If you think I am wrong tell me what she has continuosly done in the face of all the tragedies America has had other than showcase her fellow Celebrities rush there with her cameras and then poof nothing more?
The kind of money that girl has she can change communities, not furnish a house for a family, BUT CHANGE COMMUNITIES IN AMERICA , AFRICA AND IN ANY PART OF THE WORLD SHE WANTS.
She Oprah is a just a FAKE!
SO I FEEL IT WOULD BE INSULTING TO OUR INTELLIGENCE TO SUGGEST HER FOR VICE PRESIDENT!
Sorry for the rant but i have no time to fame adorers like Oprah and all i think they are good at is just to rank in their dollars from their sensational Tv shows with people who have better to do than sit in front of the Tv.

But I doubt it would happen. Just can't see that ticket. For all her fame, Oprah is still just a celebrity and has little political experience. It would be like asking Brad Pitt or Denzel Washington to run as VP. Yeah, they have fame but that's about it.
Then again, politicians continue to prove (both sides) that experience in politics does not make you a great politician.
I think what we really need in the White House is some new blood, don't care who, just someone new.

I think this is a wrong idea. Oprah is good at talk shows but for Vice President? If this will be on television, I will buy some Wimbledon tickets and run away so I wont see the disaster. But what changes does she have to reach that position ?
