a week
a week ago… decidedly lonely
havent come home from school or work
havent been here
wow

the only person ive known
who actually went away
not to school
not to work
not to market
not to heaven

away
from here from me
from all of us

you the courageous person
me still here
hiding in my box
wondering how to get out
and off you went
out of your box
into the new
with a brave and serious heart

well
remember this box
and come back to it
to visit
but don’t stay here
don’t make your home a box
small confined
ever tightening
your world will be large
inviting
thrilling and different
keep to it
be open and
change always
but remember to
visit
i want to see the changes
i want to see the courage
i want to see you
as you travel away to the
open places
