Online Dating

I never once thought that online dating is a good thing. That how could it work out? I mean you don't see each other all you have to go by is what the other person says until that day when you met. I mean how do you know that the person you are "dating" is who they say they are? And that they are telling you the whole truth, but at the same time you never know when someone is telling you the whole truth.

Lately I've been talking to a gentleman online and realized we are in a relationship (plus I asked him) I never thought I would care for someone so soon as I do this man, and at the same time I still have the same thoughts I just described. How do I know he's who he says he is or what he says is the truth. I have to trust this person before I have met him. Or at least take what he says as is for right now.

Dating in general is a hard thing, but long distance online relationships are more work, and harder to keep together.
