Online Dating

Have you ever noticed how big online dating has become? There are so many dating sites that it is hard to keep track. These sites bring people together, but they don't teach them how to stay together. That is like schools teaching sex education without teaching kids how to take care of babies.

What I don't understand is why people pay some dating sites when there are some great free dating sites out there.

It makes me wonder whether people are still looking for long term relationships, or whether most people today just want a casual fling. In my day, the goal was to get married and raise a family.

In my younger sister's day it was to get married and have a good life. Now, it seems like it is 'have a good life' and avoid marriage if possible.

It is interesting how society's trends vary. 100 years ago divorce was confined to high society. Women were encouraged to be the second wife, because the first wife was often divorced when she reached 35-40 years old so the husband could marry a younger wife, often only 16 or 17.

It makes me wonder what life will be like for my children.
