One Last Freight

creativity for children | feelings | poems

Where are we now?
I'm standing on the road,
Waiting for you
But what do I know,
This is what I know.

When I wait for you,
The sun goes down
My shadow disappears,
When you're not around.

You came into my bed that night,
You curled up to me,
And gave me a freight.

'Where have you been?' I asked
You gave me a silent nod,
I turned over and put on my mask.

I got up the next morning,
And you were gone,
The place as empty,
I couldn't move on.

I never heard from you
That night
I bet you don't care,
That you gave me one last freight.
