On Violence In Iraq (by BigBadJohnny)

In the past I have taken the position that the ongoing civil war was a seperate, independent coincidense of the coalition occupation.
Yesterday I posted on this site an article about the kidnapping and subsequent release of the Iraqi Olympic Committee and the TaekwonDo team members. These incidents raise questons in my mind.

Perhaps the Allied occupation has been a catylyst,or a major cause of this flareup in violence and Sheeite, Sunni, hostilities.
In Iraq, 80% of the Muslim population is Sheite, 20% Sunni, roughly speaking. TheAmercans seem to favor the Sheites. Reportedly, Sheites have tortured and murdered Sunnis. Sunnis have tortured and murdered Sheeites.

Not only the stress, physical, economical, psychological, emotional, of the foreign presence, but also the clash of positions on that presence, may have factored into the new increased violence.

Some iraqi Citizens may tend to favor democratizaton. Many, however, demand control of their destinies, and their lives. Their society has existed, and evolved, over decades of centuries. They possess culture, art, music, and religious beliefs.
They would rather not, then, let George Bush, Skull & Bones, and The British Royal Family impose arbitrary and self-serving standards.
There is still the queston, who kidnapped the Olympic members, and who recieved the $100,000 for their release?

The coach of Iraq's national wrestling team was also killed in Baghdad.
