On to the Fluff!

Someone on My Lot commented once on all the fluff in the conversations there. He wanted to know where the substance was and was upset that there were so many conversations full of drivel.
I think, for myself, I'm going to stick with the fluff. I can comment without getting my head bit off and those conversations are often fun and uplifting. There certainly is enough bad in the world and enough bad news that I don't need to go looking for it.
It seems whenever I don't agree with someone, I am wrong and then their main goal in life becomes to make me look foolish, stupid, uneducationed and phobic about something. I really don't need that,
So, it's on to the fluff and I think that's where I'm going to stay!

a frown when they age like a permanent warning to all of us beware it's a scrooge who likes to throw p*ss and vinegar wherever they go! Forget about those foolios and ON WITH THE FLUFF and the FUN!

I know what you mean though...I do get slammed every now and then, however I don't let it get to me. I tend to be very vocal about the things that matter to me, and as you yourself said on another post...let's agree to disagree. I can be a tad aggresive at times but I can say with all honesty that I am fair. I don't take fools lightly, and neither should you. If we all were to go all fluffy EGADS, it would suck no? Variety is the spice of life. LOL I am even disagreeing with you here:(
all things are the substance of life, both fluff and serious
things, and we need a balance of both. On serious issues, however, we here, can debate and disagree without making anyone feel uneducated and ill-informed or shouting people down. I have come away from other sites because of that sort of thing.

by agreeing to disagree. Some posts deserve to be blasted, and some comments really do deserve to be argued. But then again when we stop all the arguing and just sit back and allow stuff to be said that is blatantly wrong then we are tacitly agreeing by our very silence. I for one wont sit by while someone sais things that are either idiotic or mean. If enough of us do that than maybe we can actually make a difference. Not all comments are PC, and neither are all bloggers. Manodogs and I disagree with a variety of things and we very often get into "arguments" but he has taught me a thing or two and I like to believe that just maybe I have taught him a thing or two. But we still like each other and we still have fun blogging. WW11 was partially a product of too much silence, so many examples exist of horrid things that have happened due to silence. So I vehemently disagree with you...NOW BRING IT ON. LOL.
To fluff, or not to fluff,...
I don't think it matters either way if one just feels like writing about what one feels like writing. For instance, there are people who write about things they're hoping they can make money off from their Google AdSense, but most of us don't care about those things because there's no warmth or personality out of that stuff, and most of it is copied. There are people who write lots of fantasy or poems, which was creative and don't leave a lot to comment on sometimes, and other times it requires comment. There are people like me who rants about the bad stuff I see or read, and heck, it's hard to take an opposing view of much of it (especially stupid parents or crimes against children). Then there are those folks who will write just to start controversy, who really don't have a vested interest in what they're writing, or do have a vested interest and just want to get people riled. Those can be fun, or they can be irritating, but at least half the time they're honest.
And I guess that's the most important thing to me; some honesty and sincerity. And the rest will take care of itself.
