On Becoming Almost a Vegetarian Overnight
About a year ago – in fact I think it was June 22, 2005 – I stopped eating almost all meat. At 35 years old I was a pretty average meat eater who enjoyed a good steak, lamb, pork, or poultry, in moderation. Then one weekend I was visiting my parents’ house with my sister, who’s been a vegetarian since college. She was frying herself an egg when I came into the kitchen and said it smelled like fried fish. She calmly took the pan off the stove and said she was going to eat something else.
She explained to me that many egg farms feed their chickens fish meal to make them high in omega-3 fatty acids. Now, I’m a person who has my own sense of the “natural

I agree with you. The horrid treatment of animals should make the people in this word weep for their sins. Animals have been entrusted to us not to abuse, but to take care of.
If aliens arrived and treated humans like humans treat animals....can you imagin what a horrible thing it would be? In the story, THE TIME MACHINE, Wells sort of hints at it.
