OK, Now I Really Have No Excuse for Not Traveling Abroad!!!!!

Anyone who knows me knows that I am seriously afflicted by the travel bug. Ever since I went to Europe for the first time with my parents when I was 16 and my father was allowed to re-enter Hungary, I knew that Europe was where I belonged. Although, I must admit, I love Asia with a passion too......

So, as luck would have it, I ended up studying abroad my sophomore year in college in Salzburg, Austria and then after graduating and a year of working in "Office Space" hell, I got picked up and sent off to work internationally as a model. Dream come true? Hell yes. The only problem is that now that I am an adult (really?! LOL!) and a mother of two, traveling is not as easy as it used to be. I fantasize obsessively about taking my husband and kids to see everything I've seen and to discover new places together.....but traveling with kids gives me grade A heart palpitations and I break out in a cold sweat.

Where could I go where my three year old livewire of a son would be welcomed? My infant is a baby buddha , so no problem there, and since she is as of yet not mobile, even better.....but my boy, well, he can climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, rappell down it and swom across a stormy sea in 2.5 seconds flat....at least he has the energy to do so. Leisurely strolls through museums and hours of coffee & people watching would NEVER fit into his agenda. I have all but given up on the idea of international travel for now thinking that once the kids are in college, my husband and I can turn into geratric backpackers. Well, and this in no way is a paid post or ad, I found an awesome website that makes me think we just may be able to head to Europe in the next few years after all! It's called Ciao Bambino!...which not only is too cute a name for the site, but also offers awesome kid friendly vacations.....so now I really have no excuse to not pack up the fam and go...well, except for the money issue.....but still! I am so freakin excited about this!

Ok, gotta go "plan" my family vacation!

Oh, yeah, here's the link....(Spooky & Intricate.....I thought about you guys with this one!!)

I can tell you a great place to go with kids is

Sassys

ALWAYS Spain...In Spain both women and children are treated with a great deal of respect...France is a big fat NO-NO as French people believe that kids are better seen but not heard. Italy is another good choice. If you think about the languages (Spanish and Italian) they sound almost like baby languages...LOL. I talk with all kinds of babies when they come into the place where I work, and it always gets a big fat smile out of them:)

spain and italy are two of my favorites anywas so that would be fantastic! i love france, but i agree with you and what the french sentiment towards kids....and my son would definitely demand to be seen and heard! :-P not that i am a doormat mom, but he is really a spirited child, and of course the french would just chalk it up to us being americans.....spoiled and such. ack! but yes.....spain and italy....i already speak both languages and my son understands spanish and speaks it a little (but he prefers english because i'm the only person he hears in spanish and i am in no way as cool as his friends & his dad!LOL!) plus spaniards and italians are so effusive, such warm & friendly people....yes, i can picture us there already!
