Obama - The Fake One
Andrea Mitchell is the Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent for NBC News and she is along on the Obama Publicity Tour to Europe. She is a liberal as you would expect, but apparently it is possible for a 'reporter's pride and principles' to break out of that mold.
On the Chris Matthews program, called Hardball she let loose. The pictures that are being seen from Obama's trips are 'all Obama could have dreamed of." But of course, they should be since they are carefully orchestrated fake images. The images are not from the reporters.
A direct quote from Andrea Mitchell:
"He didn't have reporters with him, he didn't have a press pool, he didn't do a press conference while he was on the ground in either Afghanistan or Iraq. What you're seeing is not reporters brought in. You're seeing selected pictures taken by the military, questions by the military, and what some would call fake interviews, because they're not interviews from a journalist. So, there's a real press issue here. Politically it's smart as can be. But we've not seen a presidential candidate do this, in my recollection, ever before."
A real press issue!
Possibly never before has the press been so sold out on a candidate, and candidate Obama just crapped on them. What next? Will the press continue to look adoringly into his face, or will they say ENOUGH is ENOUGH!

Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha! What a pitiful attempt!
I mean, a truly pitiful attempt to make something bad out of Obama's trip. Fake interviews? How, exactly do you define a "fake interview?" Did someone pretend to answer questions that were never asked? Or did someone ask questions and them answer them himself? Or, and this is what actually happened, did someone ask questions and someone else answer them? Someone else asked questions and Obama answered them. That's an interview. Duh!
From what I can see, the MSM has been conducting "fake interviews" for a long, long time, now. They've been asking questions and then twisting the answers they get - they've been asking closed-ended questions - they've even made up answers to questions they've never asked. Who can blame Obama for not traveling with an entourage of so-called journalists?
Interviews are not the sole domain of the press. So sorry to have to tell all those so-called journalists out there but they just aren't. And this pitiful attempt to make the public think that Obama is doing something terrible is just laughable. Really. Is this the best ya'll can come up with?
It's just killing you McCain supporters that Obama's trip to the Middle East has been successful and that he's getting all this attention for it. Bless your little hearts.
Obama's trip
I would not want to tarnish Obama's vacation. Every senator is entitled to vacation on taxpayer money. Obama is a tourist and this is a vacation/publicity stunt. Nothing more. I find it hard to beleive any Americans could be so easily duped.
You challenge me about the details of the interview process. How would I know? Ask your liberal democrat friend Andrea Mitchell for the details.
By the way, where do you get off calling me a McCain supporter?
djbtol
You're not a McCain supporter? Gee, last time I looked
there were 2 choices, McCain or Obama and you clearly are not supporting Obama. Oh, duh! You must be supporting Nader! Right? Sheesh!
Gosh, djbtol, I would have thought you might have an original - or at least intelligent - thought in your head. Must you rely on propoganda for every little bit of information you have? Look up 'interview' in the dictionary if you can't come up with a definition.
I find it even more amusing that when McCain went to the Middle East all you right-wingers trashed Obama for not going and now you are calling his trip to the Middle East a sham with "fake interviews" and a vacation. As you are fond of saying, you can't have it both ways.
Fake interviews my ass!

This really is pathetic...your jealousy is showing and it is not attractive. The only thing "fake" here is this blog...it's as per your usual DJ...I think I'll stop calling you DJ...that's far too nice...better yet BTHOLE, one day your lies are gonna jump up and bite that uptight ass of yours!
What lies?
Is it that I hurt your feelings, or that I said something bad about the little obama guy?

Can't quite believe this one...
even though I'm very much politically isolated as a foreigner here.

The truth
is not always pretty. Only Andrea Mitchell, Chris Matthews and a host of other people know if she has reported it accurately. I have no reason to doubt the story, and thus far, there has been no rebuttal of significance.
djbtol
This just in.....
CBS has covered up a huge gaff - another one - by McCain that shows he knows absolutely nothing about what is going on in Iraq. Read it and weep.
You shouldn't have any problem believing this, since it's in writing and it's on a news service.
One must consider the source:
Huffington post is totally committed to the liberal cause (although they do prefer Hillary) and have trouble reporting the facts. When the surge first became noticed as successful, democrats like Chuck Shumer and others rushed to the microphones to say that credit goes to the Iraqis, and not to the U.S. military effort. This was after The Pelosi/Reid campaign to see America defeated had been thoroughly entrenched in the democrat mind. Any signs of U.S. victory or success in Iraq have been and still are totally unacceptable.
Those who will not stand behind the U.S. Miliary should leave the country.
It seems to be a real sign of desperation from the democrat side that they try to make a big deal out of an alleged mistake my McCain. They should be keeping their eyes on the bumbling tourist over their in Europe if they want to see someone who knows absolutely nothing.
I'm not weeping.
djbtol
Oh, darlin', put the Kool-aid down.
Facts are facts, no matter who reports them. The backup is there - they've got the film to prove it and they aren't the only news service to run this little piece of news.
And your twisting of the stand against the surge is pathetic, as usual, and a sure sign that you are, indeed, weeping. You're using desperate tactics to try and make Obama look bad because you can't come up with anything - not one single thing - to make McCain look good. By the way, I found it particularly telling that you typed "my McCain" instead of 'by McCain.' LOL!!
If you don't like living in a country where people have the right to express their views - any views - then why don't you immigrate? Maybe some South American dictatorship would be more to you liking, where no one dares to express a negative view about the current leadership. Of course, I would never suggest you try an African country, even though your politics would fit right in with some of those governments.
Who said anyting
about someone not expressing their veiws? Did I say you could not express your views? Did I say you could not heartily swallow all the mainstream propoganda and go on your merry way? Many of your allegations against me don't make sense.
As an American, I was not planning on leaving my country. That's why I don't tear it down.
Even at this late date, Obama still does not understand the surge. Katie Couric (CBS News) went after him four times and she could barely get him to acknowledge it. Of course Obama still thinks the war is in Afghanistan.
But the best part is where Obama tries to hide behind this sad little tale that he didn't get to try his solution. Obama's solution was surrender, wave the white flag and run home with our tails between our legs. Go democrat!
djbtol
Well, yeah, you did.
You said that people who don't support the military should leave the country. Now, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and deciding that you meant the military top command, because I know you know better than to insinuate that I don't support our troops, some of whom I know personally. Well, I don't support the military top command or what they force our troops to do - and I really want that clearly understood. As an American citizen, I have that right. That is not tearing America down, that is stating my opinion on how I feel the country should be run.
Katie Couric kept asking the same question over and over because she did not like the answers she was getting. Obama answered the same question over and over. You and Katie just don't like his answer - that's all it is. Frankly, there are more people who agree with Obama than who do not agree with him - top military people - top foreign policy advisors, etc., etc., etc.
And, djbtol, once again, I have to remind myself that I really do love you. "Obama still thinks the war is in Afghanistan" ????? OSAMA BIN LADEN AND AL QUEDA ARE IN AFGHANISTAN!!! Well, recent reports have bin Laden in Pakistan - but his base has always been Afghanistan and our real "war on terror" has always been in Afghanistan. Gosh, do I really need to start at the beginning of this with you? Get real, dj.
Surrender? Surrender a war we started on false pretenses? Yes, absolutely, unequivocally, with our tails tucked between our legs - we should surrender and get the hell out. We have no business in Iraq. We never did. We are doing nothing but making things worse. And I see no hope that we can ever undo the harm we have done there. Did we really need to bomb an entire country and slaughter hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians to take out the man we put in power in the first place? Oh yeah, Hussein was our man at one time. We're the ones that put him in power.
Our business is with bin Laden and al Queda - in AFGHANISTAN!
And the surge is not working. Period. The purpose of that surge was to make US citizens safer over there and to bring about better cooperation between the different factions over there. That cooperation started before the surge began with the Anbar Awakening - something McCain doesn't seem to remember but it started in 2006 - long before the surge. The only reason our US citizens are safer over there now is because we got thousands more soldiers protecting them right now. When the soldiers go home, that safety will be gone too. The surge was not the solution Bush said it would be - many people knew it would not be. All it has done is cost the taxpayers through the nose and the soldiers in blood.
And you still want to defend the surge. Well, all I have to say is, at least we are finally talking about something of consequence. See there? I knew you had it in you.
The way I see it is that
this is only fair. We (the godless heathen left wingers) have had to endure Bush for the last 8 years. Now, it's pretty obvious that Obama will be the next president and the tables are starting to turn.
Ahmadinejad
could not be happier.
djbtol
There you go again, djbtol.
Showing us just how uninformed and bigoted you are. Shame on you.
Go get them...
PW!
