Obama’s ‘Lipstick’ Remark Was Not About Palin….

But his ‘Old Fish’ remark was about McCain.
The McCain campaign has continued to scrabble around in the mud looking for things with which to attack Obama. During a campaign speech in Virginia on Tuesday, Obama said the following:
- "John McCain says he's about change too, and so I guess his whole angle is, 'Watch out George Bush -- except for economic policy, health care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy and Karl Rove-style politics -- we're really going to shake things up in Washington."
- "That's not change. That's just calling something the same thing something different. You know, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. You know, you can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change, it's still going to stink after eight years. We've had enough of the same old thing."
The McCain campaign is now accusing Obama of aiming his remark about “lipstick on a pig” at Sarah Palin. What’s interesting is that McCain has used this exact same line in reference to proposed policy from Hillary Clinton. I guess that, in order for a man to use a sentence with the word ‘lipstick’ in it, the man has to be 9 years older than dirt and not responsible for what he says because he was a POW.

Well in my mind when she wears that lipstick
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
every time she opens her lipsticked lips she lies! So too bad, and yes I do believe in the irony here...she is just as mean as a wild hog, and she is a liar. The good news is her supporters don't have a clue about her other then to know that she is like a pit bull? So she insults all those Hockey Moms by calling them dogs, but no one can call her a pig?
Her whole party belongs in a pen as far as I am concerned!
Sassys, she's the very definition of a scheming,
conniving female. Definitely NOT the kind of woman I want representing my gender.
But hey! Obama was not calling Palin a pig. He was talking about McCain's policies and Palin did not even enter into the subject. He was, however, referring to McCain and his policies as "old fish." LOL!!!
Well PW
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
I think Obama was giving fish a bad name. McCain and his party are parading La Palin around and guess who are voting for her the most? Men...Know why? Because men think with their dicks!
Not yet they aren't, Sassys.
The most recent polls, which, by the way, were skewed toward Republicans, just showed that lots of men like Palin. What do you want to bet that when it comes time to pull that lever, those men will NOT opt for a woman? Sure, a woman like Palin is great to fantasize about for these dick-heads, but they aren't about to trust her with something important.
They don't have a clue PW
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
on how to discuss the real issues, so instead they talk about remarks Obama has made...it's pathetic.
And what about Elizabeth Hasselbeck?
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
That twaat has yet to get reprimanded by any of the woman on "the view" Personally I think all Democratic woman should BOYCOTT "The View" until she apologizes to Michelle Obama!
You know, Sassys, the only thing that shows like
"The View" are good for is mindless entertainment - mindless being the operative word. I taped it the day they interviewed Gary Oldman because....well, damn, it was Gary Oldman! And they even managed to interrupt and talk over him - even Whoopie and she was completely missing the fucking joke!!! Those women are not there to expand your consciousness or fill you in on the latest information. They are there to sell commercials and themselves - period. You want to spend your time watching something fulfilling? Watch old reruns of Scrubs. At least those will give you a laugh or two.
Oh hell, I could go on and on about what a waste of time shows like that are. The fact remains, expecting someone like Elizabeth Hasselbeck to apologize to any public figure is only giving credence where credence is most definitely NOT due.
Yes PW however
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
when one takes on a political view and they shove it down my throat because they would rather lie, steal, or downright divulge their backstage laundry...then I believe it would be the honest, fair thing to do...but instead the Republicans boycott Oprah! Yeah that makes sense...they are literally trying to strong arm her into allowing Palin some air time! Fuck em!
I see where you are coming from, Sassys.
But, again, I think you are giving credence to the McCain camp's bullshit wa-wa-waing about how nobody is treating Sarah fairly. It's bullshit. Leave it lay - don't pick it up and play with it. Just point out to everyone that there's bullshit on the path and warn them to walk around it. LOL!!!
Yes but you are assuming PW
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
that the masses will look down before they step in the pile of stinking crap that is the Republican platform, so yeah I think it is my duty to point out shit before it hits the fan, because if we don't point it out then we will all be covered in Republican doodoo, and I have been told their doodoo smells worse then our doodoo!
Not at all, Sassys. That's why I said you should
warn everyone about the bullshit in the road. But I am against giving it further credence by demanding quid pro quo from anyone. When you do that you are saying, in essence, that the Republicans are right and that they do deserve an apology from Oprah and that Oprah should let Palin on her show. And I know you don't mean that.
Hmmm I doubt that the public is that gullible PW!
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
I know the masses are not always quick to see the crap they are fed, but most people that love Oprah know that this is just a ploy to get attention for Palin, but the Hasselbeck comment is a direct insult to Michelle Obama, and that is different!
Yes, it is, Sassys. You are right.
Don't demand quid pro quo then - just demand it on it's own merit. But Hasselbeck is a Republican shill - so....so what? It's not like any kind of apology from her would be satisfying or would actually admit that what she said was wrong. It would all come out like she was just being magnanimous. I still think that calling attention to it and demanding an apology is giving it more publicity and more credence.
But I do think that the public is that gullible. Look who is just finishing up his 2nd term as Prez.
But I honestly believe that Bush stole
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
the last election so technically he did not win...anyhoo, the attention cuts both ways, so yes it is negative attention but it is also needed attention to throw light on the liars a.k.a the Republicans be they shills or be they Bush.
Whether or not the last election was fixed,
and I firmly believe that it was, Bush got millions of votes. He got enough votes to make it close enough to fix without getting caught. The country was very closely divided during both his elections.
Yes, I agree with outing the liars. In fact, if you let a lie stand then people will tend to believe the lie. So, yes, I agree, all liars have to be outed. And I am now officially boycotting "The View". I'll be contacting Gary Oldman's manager to let him know that Gary should not do any more interviews on "The View" because The Royal Order of Gary Oldman's Greatest Fans in the World will not watch it.
However, like I said earlier, there's only one other show I would deliberately watch on "The View" and it involves farts, guts, and stink.
:-D
hahahahahahaha...damn it all!
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
good thing this is not the A.M or instead of soda I would now be cleaning up hot coffee! Jeez, I tend to agree being that I personally do not ever pass gas I find it amusing when others do...but only if the farter is a Democrat.
As I've said before, Sassys, that's all they've got.
They know that, when it comes to the actual issues, Obama blows them out of the water. So, they spend their time twisting and smearing and lying.
It amazes me that McCains camp
wants to yell injustice on something that he himself said...not once, not twice, but three different times. It's a bunch of crap!! They will only stoop further as this rolls on towards November...just be prepared...you know it's gonna get worse. Thing is...I believe McCains camp are the only ones that are really going to partake in the mud slinging....I haven't heard Obama say anything like I have heard McCain has said..ya know what I mean?
You are right Ammorton
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
and the hypocrisy will continue as well...they have tried to steal the "Party of change" mantra, so if they will stoop to stealing then nothing they do is a surprise to me.
It's a real shame
but when you throw mud some of it sticks. McCain is now up in the polls. The more mud they throw the more support they will gain. Very sad but true. That's the way of the American People. Obama now needs to come out strong and talk about troopergate and a host of other things that define just who McCain/Palin are. If he won't then we need to do it ourselves.
I agree with you all the way, Pancho Villa.
Even if Obama does come out strong and tell the actual truth about McCain/Palin, we still need to get the word out. The only difference in the mud we will be slinging is that McCain & Palin were the ones who made those mud piles - we won't have to conjur up our own like they have been doing.
Smear campaigns should not be allowed and yet
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
the gossip mongers just can't help themselves...they have nothing significant going on in their own lives, so they sneer at someone who is actually trying to make a difference. Sad, but true.
You are absolutely right, Ammorton. Obama is
sticking to his principles and refusing to get down in the mud with McCain. However, he is finally standing up and refuting some of the worst smears and I am feeling very good about that. As Pancho Villa says, throw enough mud and some of it will stick. And that's exactly why I feel it is imperative to refute as much of it as I possibly can.
But damn, there's just so much of it. This "lipstick on a pig" thing came out yesterday along with another attack ad by McCain claiming that Obama wants to give explicit sex education to kindergarteners. He's referring to legislation that Obama introduced that includes educating kindergarteners about inappropriate touching. Fortunately, Time Mag and lots of other people have jumped on this little perversion.
What a wimpy whiner!
If McCain and Palin are crying and whining about a lipstick joke, then how will they react when America's enemies bark? Are they going to cry and whine and run under the bed? This trough stinks because it is full of a slop of lies.
LMAO, Ms. Zola!!
I LOVE the way you put that! And it's a very good point. Will Palin whine and tell Putin that he has to be nice to her cause she's a girl? Will McCain whine and tell bin Laden that he has to respect him because he's a POW? Sheesh! Wimps and whiners is right!
That's the TOTAL hypocrisy of McCain/Palin
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
They have labeled her a "Barracuda" and yet they get upset when she gets called out, because she is a woman. And watching McCain stand by her side every time she opens her mouth makes me wonder who is running for President!!
Yeah, the guy that called his wife a C**t is playing the
sexism card? Sorry, that won't fly. And the woman who compares herself to a pit bull oght to be able to suck it up and take her lumps like a pit bull would.
I think that David Letterman said it best PW
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
Obama was not calling Palin a pig, but he was calling McCain an old man.. and Obama is so likable and intelligent. Whereas McCain..have you watched the way he stands next to Palin in that awkward way he has? He dumped his crippled wife and married "Cindy" after only one month of being divorced. He is so obviously desperate...and it shows. He also admires strong women...could be he has a little crush on Palin. UGH! I think I just threw up a little in my mouth.
Ha! I think I said it best!
Obama was calling McCain an "Old Fish"! In fact, he was calling McCain an old fish that stinks!
LOL!!!
Did you watch Obama on David Letterman last night PW?
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
He was brilliant! And as Letterman said he is immensely likable, because he is so smart...and he has a terrific sense of humor. Add that to the fact that he has actual plans for the future of this country and what's not to like!!
I taped it, Sassys.
I get up at 5:30AM - I can't stay up to watch Letterman if I want to be awake for the insanity that I call my job. Speaking of which, the looney-tunes are out in force today. A-bi-dee-a-bi-dee-a-bi-dee-a That's all folks!
LMAOOOOOOO
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
I actually read this whole comment before I got the cartoon effect! Can ya say stutter?
talk about taking things out of context
McCain is very good at this as we can all see....he'd make a good tabloid employee...lol. Mabey he should consider that as his next job.
Right on Ammorton!!
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
McCain can't get any other job...who the hell would hire him?
And you know, Ammorton, I've done my share of
whining and crying that the press was being unfair to Obama. The Reverend Wright crap - the BS on Faux News about the "militant fist bump" and confusing Obama's name with Osama. I raised hell about stuff like that but I was most definitely raising hell in context. It's when the McCain camp takes things so far out of context that they aren't even in the same subject anymore that I have a serious problem with their BS. No matter what the McCain camp wants to call it - it's lies - plain, simple, unexcusable lies.
They have no choice but to lie PW!!
http://bloggerparty.com/blog/sassys
They can't come up with any of their own ideas about our real issues so they lie...but it is so bloody transparent, and obvious, that in and of itself, is a real insult.
Interesting thread...
people, we have our own election going in NZ too. Left v right!
My Qassia LinkTHE GREEN BLOG - World of Conservation and Ecology
I hope your elections are going better than ours, Hutts.
This campaign is getting dirtier every day and the economy is sliding down a hole and everyone is blaming everyone else. This is the nastiest election campaign I've ever seen and that includes the one between Bush and Kerry.
Excellent Article,well
