Nudity For Arts' Sake

atomicgirl's picture

It took Spencer Tunick more than 1500 people from Venezuela to take another batch of his famous photographs that needed nude people to pose. Oh, do not think green thoughts. These are not for pornography or any of that stuff. Yes, for arts sake you may call it.

What this American photographer did was to make a human mosaic in front of the country’s national symbol which was their hero Simon Bolivar. Of course, Bolivar is what Venezuela looks up to as a reminder of the freedom that they are experiencing.

And yes, they were wearing only their birthday suits. That’s why it is one remarkable piece of art if you get to look at the outcome and finished photos of any of Tunick’s creations. They really are great!

Some people who took part in that said event said that they were nervous. Although for most of them, the experience was a liberating one. After all, there were no inhibitions. Come as you are. No problem with that. And yes, their bodies were not judged – they could come rail thin, sexy and smouldering, or even bulky and fat. Tunick does not care. It sure is liberating. After all, most people are afraid that they are going to be judged because of their bodies.

So what do these people get out this project. Well, let’s just say that they each would be receiving a copy of their photos. At least, they could be able to say that were part of that.
