Now's the Time to Start Losing Weight Before Summer Comes!

It might not even be officially spring yet, and in many parts of the U.S. there is still snow on the ground. But it's time to start thinking about summer now if you want to lose weight in time for summer and look and feel great before your friends and family start heading to the pool.

Losing weight in a healthy way does not happen over night. It can take a couple of weeks to see small results, and if you're looking to drop 2-3 waist sizes, it may take 2-3 months realistically. We see all of these gimmicks all of the time to lose weight fast, overnight, instantly, in one week, in two weeks...there's thousands of diet fads out there. The problem with fad dieting is that it is very bad for you. It can cause hormonal and metabolism problems. A high protein diet could put you at risk for kidney stones or other problems.

The dangers of fad dieting are very real.

The good news is if you start thinking about summer NOW and you start planning a healthy diet and exercise program NOW - you can see results by summer. You could be 2-3 sizes smaller (maybe more depending on your current weight and your health) in time for swimsuit season and vacation. And when you do it in a healthy way instead of a fad diet, you will also find that not only do you look pretty good - you'll feel great too!

So don't procrastinate. Don't be a victim of fad diets. Start learning about how to eat healthy, plan an exercise routine for 30 minutes 3 days a week, and start looking forward to summer coming! (Don't worry, I'll give you some tips on how to do this in my next blog post - it's not as hard or overwhelming as it might seem!)
