Nintendo Wii: Test Those Consoles!

Being that I talk about everything under the sun, I thought I'd tell you what happened this weekend with the Christmas gift The Little One's Dad bought the boys. He stood on line for several hours to pre order a Nintendo Wii. I thought that was insane and a little frivolous, especially with all the unexpected expenses I could have used the money for. Whatever. Anyway, he picked up the console last Monday and brought it here this weekend.

He decided to test the console, to make sure it worked. (I thought it was more so he could play it.) It was a good call though. It turned out that the system didn't work! The console turned on for a few seconds and then shut off. It never worked again. Let's just say he was pretty upset. Of course, he tossed the receipt. (Even though I've told him a million times to save important receipts.) He only had the receipt he was given at the pre order. He called the store and they told him he had 7 days to exchange the product, except they didn't have any in the store and didn't know when they were going to get a shipment!

My advice to anyone that has purchased a Nintendo Wii is to test the console. You don't want to find yourself on Chrsitmas day with a dud! He was actually considering taking it as a loss! He called the store and was told he wouldn't receive another one for a long time. He called Nintendo and was directed to return it to the store. Finally, he called the Nintendo repair center. Today the piece came in the mail and it's working well. Lucky for him that it worked.

Take my advice and test that console today...
