New to Blogging
I'm new to blogging. Been reading here a few days and thought I would jump in, though.
I'm not too sure what to write about. Movies, books, maybe. I'm a university student right now and wouldn't mind making some extra money.
Do you guys make any money at this?
I'd be happy if it paid for a cup of coffee.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Well, Google doesn't pay until you reach $100 - so you will be waiting for your coffee, but yes you can made money. Read the stuff under main menu - then post regular quality content, and promote your blog. Good luck.

I'm new to Blogger Party, so I can't speak to making money here, yet, but I earn several hundred dollars from Adsense alone every month from my other blogs and websites.
So, yes, I know it's possible to earn money by blogging.
However, to do so, I think you may want to focus on particular things that others may find useful. People search for information on the Internet, and if you can point them to products or services they want to buy, or can provide a solution to a problem they have, then they are much more likely to click on an ad on your blog.
The more popular the subject you write about, the more likely it is that others will find your blog. The more visitors, the more money you may earn.

Actually, a certain amount of babbling may be a good thing. It may draw more people to your blog and engage them in conversation.
Talking about your favorite book, movie, artist, actor, or other celebrities will almost always cause relevant Adsense ads to show up on your blog entries.
If you want to talk about you favorite movie, for example, be sure to put the movie title in the subject line.
For instance, I might start out a blog post, when I have time, such as this:
Subject: The Lord of the Rings
Comment: I've watched all three episodes of the Lord of the Rings and I like The Fellowship of the Rings the best...
Then I could go on talking about why I liked it.
The same holds true for other things you see, hear, buy, or want to buy. The more lively the conversation, the more readers, and the higher the liklihood that someone will click a link and buy something.
Of course, you NEVER want to encourage anyone to click on your Adsense ads or click them yourself. That will get your account closed in a hurry.
Just write about what you are passionate about and it won't even seem like work!
If you have specialized knowledge or experience, that may work even better for you.
