New to BloggerParty, New Beginnings

blog | new | write

Well, I was at Writing up, as apparently were so many others around here, but it seems they are down for good now. I've been looking for other places to blog and stubbled on to here so we'll see how it goes.

One of the things that made me blog was a transformation in my life, a mid life crisis if you prefer. I'm overweight, hated my job and eventually got fired, and in general was feeling pretty low. I made a decision to turn things around and was blogging my progress, along with other things.

Things have been going better, after going through several positions, I will be starting a new job in two weeks that I feel suits me well. I have lost 50 pounds and am continuing to loose more. I read a lot more, especially inspirational books, and feel I have now turned a corner. I just have to keep it up, not rest on my laurels, and continue on my path.

I hope to do a lot of writing here, some fun, some serious, some contraversial but hopefully all worthwhile, thought provoking, and stimulating.

Here's to a new beginning, again.

Communati

It appears all the daily-bloggers from WU are moving to www.communati.com and I can't blame them.

They get 90% of the Google money, not a 50/50 split, and there are far more publishing tools than on any other blog I've seen...even directories, scheduled publishing, voting, blogrolls, and Commi puts up a new tool every friday. It even takes java and embedded video.

Just asking,...

are you a sales person for Communati?

Catfish, she gets a referral percentage for every blogger

that signs up using her link. So, yes, in a way, she is a sales person for Communati. You can do the same on BP, you could do it on BF, MyLot, etc. - I think most community blogsites do the referral thing.

On BF, the referral percentage was taken out of the blogger's earnings. So, if you signed up under someone else's referral link, part of the percentage you were paid for your Adsense ads went to the person who referred you. I have no doubt Communati is the same way, since they offer 90% of your ad earnings.

See, it's the fine print that gets you every time. Even though it may only add up to a few cents a month, I don't like my earnings reduced without my full knowledge and consent up front.

I didn't know that, PW,...

and, though that wasn't really the reason I was asking the question, I understand it better now. I was asking because I keep seeing people post links to other blogs than this one, while many of us here are hoping to get the activity up here. I'd missed the finance component of it all from the personal level, and was actually being sarcastic; missed it, so it seems. lol

I was actually making a little bit of a point, too, Catfish.

I get so tired of seeing all the ads in comments from people trying to get referrals. I think it's the same as adding spam to a comment. So, I thought I'd put the full story out there.
