I just bought a new computer. I don’t think I’ve ever shelled out that large of an amount of money for anything at one time. With my new writing jobs, however, it felt good to pay for it in cash and have money left over. My friend and I were talking about the possibility of getting a computer memory upgrade because I have 80 GB on my new computer. She said there’s no way that I could ever fill up that much space. The fact is, though, that I have an external hard drive that is 80 GB and it’s completely full. I actually had to delete some things from it so I could transfer everything from my old computer onto it. I used to have every episode of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm on it. I had to delete those. But I still have about 15,000 songs, which takes up almost have of the space. I prefer having an external hard drive with all my information rather than a computer, though. I don’t want to have everything I own on one single source. In fact, I’m the type of person that will make a few copies of everything just to be safe. I’ve joked with my friends that each of them will have a copy as well just in case I lose mine and the safety deposit box in the bank that holds a copy somehow gets burned up.
