Myspace: A Place For Punks

One of the newest internet websites sweeping the younger generation is a site called myspace.com. This site is similar to its predecessor, facebook.com, which is designed to accommodate only college students and recent college graduates. Myspace, unlike facebook, welcomes anyone that wants to join: highschoolers, young adults and older adults. Browsing through the myspace directory you will find a large variety of individuals.

Myspace allows users to create a personal profile where the individual may write a biography and list their interested. This is a personal website of sorts. From this profile, one can link to a page where the user may display up to twelve pictures. The most distinctive feature about this site is the ability to add and collect friends. Users can link to friends’ pages from their own page, creating a network of related web pages. On each individual user page, there is a “comment
