My volunteer job just got a lot easier.

I've briefly written here about how I work at an internet media publisher doing searches. I am an internet researcher, and I say with only a small amount of bragging (heehee) that I am VERY good at what I do. There are several searches I am very proud of, but without talking about the media company's business, I have found the name and artist for a CD that had no identifying marks and was a spoken word album. Picture in your mind trying to find out who Garrison Keillor is by hearing his radio show, but not his name. It would be difficult. I've also found a movie I watched as a child. I didn't know the name of the movie, it was animated so there were no stars, and it was foreign to boot! But I found it. And after I discovered the name, I found it in a public library, and I was able to enjoy it once again.
I say all of this because my job at the media station can be difficult. I will make up an example. Say I am asked to find every single internet radio station that plays a certain artist more than once a week. Check Live365.com and you will know just how insane a request this is. And that's only one site. I have the WHOLE internet to search. Well, a new site at http://www.pluggd.com allows you to discover, listen to, and share podcasts. Furthermore, because I don't have an Ipod, and I've had to search podcasts before, this site is especially great, because you don't have to download them! It also allows you to bookmark a podcast elsewhere on the net, and then that podcast gets bookmarked on your Pluggd account. It also seems there is a feature that allows you to share your favorite podcasts with their friends through email.
This is going to make my job ridiculously easy.
