I have a simple philosophy regarding telephones, callers and calls, including mobile or cell phones too.

I don't own a cell phone - no I don't friends. I'm not a slave to the new phenomenon of cell phones. You will not see me hunched over texting on a cell phone, period.

To me a telephone was invented to make a telephone call!

If I were driving down the highway and a cellphone was ringing, I would not answer it. If the call was important, the caller would ring back, surely?

Well, if they don't, they don't and they can write a letter. Hang on, people don't write letters now, they email!

Yes, I'm caught up in that part of the new technology, but I don't email while I'm driving do I?

I'm with you, Hutts.

But, instead of a land line, I only have a cell phone. I decided that paying for 2 different phone services was just ridiculous - especially when I was out of work for over a year. But I really needed my cell phone so, I kept it and dumped the land line. But don't bother calling me on my cell phone when I'm at work because I won't answer it. I usually won't answer it when I'm driving, unless I'm sitting in stalled traffic and I'm bored to tears, I won't answer it when I shopping or when I'm sitting in a movie theater.

Honestly, I just can't understand people who spend every waking minute talking on the phone. How can you enjoy a movie when you're busy texting? Wouldn't you rather hurry up and get your shopping over with so you can go home and relax while you yap on the phone? And people who can't go for 10 minutes without their pacifier - which is what cell phones have become for so many - should just have Mommy drive them everywhere and make the roads safer for the rest of us.

I Watched

I watched a lady trying to decide whether to answer her phone while she was in the middle of checking out at the register in a department store. She wavered but answered the hpone anyway, holding up the entire line of customers. Could she not have waited, checked out and then returned the call?
