My Recent Revelation

Last night I watched a movie called Walking Across Egypt. In this movie an elderly woman hears the serman in church when Jesus said "You did not take care of me when i was homeless, or hungry. Then when the deciples said that they did not see him homeless or hungry, he responded by saying I am the least of theses.

So the elderly woman in the movie finds out about a boy who is in jail, and she decide to make him her Jesus. She took him tea and cake a few times at the treatment center. and she intended to leave it at that but the young boy decided to break out of Jail, and the first place he goes is to her house, to get food and to steel her money. when he tries to break in and she answers the door, he tells her that he is out on leave. so she lets him stay with her for a couple of days. While he is staying with her she teaches him how to swim, cuts his hair and teaches him that cursing is not always the best way to say something.

When she takes him to church the police get tipped off by the pastors wife that the boy is there. The boy finds out and says his goodbyes to the elderly woman and steels the pastors car. The revelation comes in here the pastor then goes to the elderly woman and tells her that he is very insulted that that she would bring that kind of Riff Raff to his church.

At this point in the movie i became very sad because things like these happen everyday. Whether it be a minster standing in front of his flock preaching that homosexuality is wrong when he is molesting the alter boy. Or a teacher telling kids not to break the law when she is having an affair with one of her students.

I am not going to give too much away but...at the end of the movie she has made a difference in the boy and he had made a difference in her. This made me realize that When we help others in whatever way they can the people we help help us right back.
