My New Diet
Ok, I give up. Every year I swear that I am gonna start eating healthier and every year I fail miserably. I feed my kids super healthy, fresh foods. I'm something of a nutrition nazi with them with the occasional french fries and happy meal thrown in for a little rebellion, but I suck with myself.
I do like healthy foods, but I am just too damned tired to make anything healthy for myself. My husband works nights mostly, so I make my 3 year old a simple dinner, my daughter is still mainly spoon fed, so that leaves me to eat once they go to bed and while I sometimes throw together a big salad just to get some greens and reds in my system, I mostly just want to eat bread, salami, cheese and chocolate. So bad. Add in the fact that the only liquid I seem to imbibe anymore is coffee and I am really in for some nasty check-ups.
Maybe I just need to move to France where cheese, bread, chocolate and coffee are perfectly acceptable forms of nutrition and the people there are quite healthy and fit. Italy would work just as well......
(BTW, the reason I don't sit and eat with my kids is because my daughter is going through a completely rotten stage right now and if I sit with my son she will either freak out in her high chair or grab at my legs while I am sitting and throw a tantrum far too big for her little body. Not a fun stage right now. Not at all.)
