My parents met out in in a small town in north eastern Alaska. They met in Ambler and made a humble couple. My mothers wedding dress was an esquimo calico, my father wore black jeans and a maroon dress shit.
My father moved from Ohio to work as a carpenter for Denali National Park and Preserve. After doing this for a number of years in the early 70's he was told about a place a bit further north and closer to the coast. Land was being given away, all one had to pay was the $12 fee for the papers.
My mother was born and raised in Denmark. After an equivelant of a highschool education she took to traveling. She did most of her traveling in Greenland, Norway, and Iceland. But she fell for the thought of Alaska when a friend described it to her. Together they went and happended by Ambler. Dad and mom met and as one would say 'love bloomed'.

For twenty years they lived 45 miles away from the nearest village. Ambler consisted of less than 300 citizens. They would only venture there to pick up their monthly supply of mail, dog food, rice, and flour. The rest of their food was subsistance hunted and fished. Dog mushing was the primary transportation in the winter and boat in the summer.
Me and my brothers came into the picture along the way; Neil in 1987, Jakob in 1989, me in 1992, and Caspian in year 2000. My parnts got a divorce in 2002 and the family moved to Healy Alaska. My father got a a girlfriend shortly after.
Healy is a rural and wealthy coal mining town located on the Parks Highway in the interior Alaska. It has approximatly 1500 people living in it in the winter and closer to 5000 in the summer. This is becasue it is just 12 miles north of the main entrance of Denali National Park.
We have been in healy for nearly 5 years now. My dad has a house out the stampede road with his girlfriend Corine. Him and Corine spend half their time here in Healy and half in Switzerland at Corines place. Mom just baught a two and a half acre piece of property and a yurt to go on it this summer.
This years project is setting up her place nice enough that it will be warm and big enough to live in. This is what it looks like now.
