My Favorite Wiggle

ModelMom's picture

Call me a little crazy...but I actually kinda enjoy watching The Wiggles with my son. They really don't creep me out even though they ARE older men dancing and singing with a bunch of kids. I noticed the credits one day and a lot of the people involved in the show are related to the actual main guys....which also made it a bit more palatable to me.

Anyways, I have to say that my favorite Wiggle is Anthony. He really seems the most natural, sweet and enthusiastic. In every song & skit he really stands out as the one who is having the most fun. It's very cute to see. And no, I am not developing a crush on one of The Wiggles. I just happen to think Anthony is adorable.

Captain Feathersword, on the other hand, drives me insane. He looks and acts like he has been snorting gargantuan piles of cocaine backstage. And as luck would have it, he is my son's favorite character. He yells for "Tappin" (aka "Captain") whenever one of his songs is over & it is either hear him call out with heartbreaking melancholy for Captain or rewind the song so many times I feel as though I too may be on some wild yayo trip.

But Anthony, he's cool. The next time The Wiggles have a concert in town I am taking my son. He shakes his booty to their songs and really breaks it down. It's hilarious....and whatever makes him happy, makes mom happy too. (I bet he would take a nap after one of those concerts!)

The Wiggles are Cool

My kids went through this same phase too, and I ended up singing along and dancing along with their songs. I'd much rather watch them than some of the other kid's shows on TV.

Be prepared to pay big bucks for the concert. I think it's worth it though!

Happy "wigglin' "

richest men in Australia

and i can see why! they get a nice amount of of those DVD sales....waaaay more expensive than Elmo's World! lolol! and i hear that they pack out huge venues when they do live performance, so if the tickets are $$$$ these boys are faring very, very well. i keep telling my husband he needs to come up with some kid's song & dance idea. there is some money to be made in that! ;-)

My fave is Anthony too!

In some of the older videos you can see that he is the only one who messes up the choreography. That cracks me up.

They use lots of family members, and the guys are all really involved. Did you know that the Wiggles started as a college project. Three Wiggles (all but Jeff) were getting their degrees in education and made a recording as a project, if I remember correctly.

Sorry for the weird trivia. I'm always curious about people I see alot on TV, so I know wayyyy too much about the kids on Barney and Loonette the clown, amongst others. The internet feeds my curiosity quite nicely.

My son is out of the Wiggles now. He's a big fan of the shows on Noggin and Nick Jr. now. Dora and Diego are big. But he goes through quick phases - right now he's obsessed with this old Muppets tape I have and also the movie Chicken Little (which he calls Little Chicken), which my husband rented and we have since purchased. Thomas the Train is always huge, and I like watching those too.

Elmo always gets a smile of recognition from my son

Now he's very into the movie Chicken Little. He loves water towers now because one crashes at the beginning. He's a funny kid!
