In Manodogs recent blog, he talked about Mr. T., and his new show. I remember Mr. T., but it surprises me how much I don't remember from my childhood.

I remember Atari's, of course, but I don't remember ever playing the games that made it famous. No Pong. No Centipede. No Asteroids. I remember that they existed, but I can't recall playing them until much later in life. I do remember Q-bert and Pacman, but it's because I played them on my dad's PC. Now that I think back, I don't know what kind of dark magick programming he did to get these Atari games on a PC. I'm still trying to figure out how he had a PC in the late 70's/early 80's. I think that's where my college fund went. My Atari game favorites were a Dolphin game and something with pyramids. I could still play both in my head, but I can't remember their names. *More about this in the next post.

I remember Smurfs was on the air, but I can't remember a single episode. I remember the Wuzzles episodes, but not their name (I had to look it up). And I remember that there was a show called The Electric Company, but I can only tell you one part of one episode. Most of all, I remember Square One TV. I would just about kill for a DVD of Square One TV. It was a math show, and it was the only thing that saved my math grades. Seriously.

I remember Teddy Ruxpin, and I remember thinking that people had lost their damn minds. But I can't remember what they looked like. I remember Cabbage Patch Dolls, and I remember that the little boy who pulled my hair because he thought I was cute had one. So I made fun of him for owning a doll because I liked him too.

I remember kickball, tetherball, and even foursquare. And I remember how to play one and a half out of the three. I was RUTHLESS at every one of them, and I wasn't afraid to take on the bigger kids, because I won every time.
