MTV VMAs

I'm a sucker for awards shows so I watched the MTV Video Music Awards. I was interested in particular in Britney Spears comeback performance. I'm not sure why. I have some strange level of sympathy for her, plus I think some of her songs are damn catchy.
Man, she totally phoned in that performance. Britney seemed completely disinterested. I suspect that she was actually terrified beyond words. Usually Britney is a good dancer, but she barely moved. And where was the Cris Angel "magic" influence I've been hearing so much about? Bah!
Kudos to Britney though for showing that you don't have to be stick thin to rock a sequined bikini. And I mean that, really. She's beautiful.
Poop sandwich to Sarah Silverman, though, for her tasteless and rude comments after Britney's performance. I love a good comedian but being mean and insulting does not make you funny. Calling Britney's kids "the cutest mistakes she's ever seen" and further describing them in a fashion that I really can't exactly replicate here was just way too much. Don't screw with innocent kids. Boo, Sarah!
The rest of the VMAs were OK. The more I watch Justin Timberlake, the more I like him, so I enjoyed his performances. Nothing else was too exciting. Oh, except the errant swear word that made it past the censors and the untelevised but frequently mentioned fight between Kid Rock and Tommy Lee. I think Kid was kicked out of the event completely because it was mentioned that he was due onstage later and he wasn't there. That's pretty funny!
So, award season has begun. Fun stuff!

Thanks for the comment. I'm
Thanks for the comment. I'm reading that other people had the same opinion. I had no idea when I wrote this last night that the Britney performance/Sarah comments would be so big today. I thought I was original, lol!
