At last the Saddam Hussein trial has entered into the final phase and the prosecution has asked for death penalty for his alleged role in killing 148 Shias. It is true that he has committed numerous inhuman crimes and he has brutally butchered a section of his society. If found guilty, he should be given the capital punishment. Not only Saddam Hussein all those rulers, warlords and presidents who have killed innocent civilians should be punished. Can President Bush do that?
Never! President Bush and his regime will only support capital punishment for those dictators who have large supply of Crude Oil and are not willing to share it with him. The mass killing for which Saddam Hussein is expecting a capital punishment was committed in 1982 after an alleged attack on his life. But even while you are reading this article, dictators and elected rulers are committing mass murders in different parts of the world. No one will interfere there.
Saddam would have been still the ruler of Iraq and would have still continued to kill people had he agreed to share crude oil with President Bush and his accomplices. He could have still ruled Iraq, if his country had no crude oil. But unfortunately his country has large amount of oil.
So, Saddam your crime is that you ruled a country that has crude oil and was not ready to share it with the big bullies.
