Morning Email

Have you ever noticed how the morning emails can mess up your day?

- DNS server resolve problem -
- Urgent article needed Immediately -
- Warning, Changes made to your Cpanel -
- Hey, I am stuck, do you have time to help me today?-
- I have a question about assignment #2 -
- Family Emergency I can't get _____ finished -

And, the list goes on. I use to love the days of phones. I had a head set attached to a belt pack. I would answer the phone, and continue working. Now, I must stop work and answer emails, solve problems, and protect inspiredauthor - all before the day starts. And, each day brings new problems

- Our forum company is causing problems. Do we migrate to a new forum format? I found one that has 'in forum' chats' activated. How many members will we loose if we migrate?

- Our writers want their own blog? Yabb or Eb or Wordpress?

And so on. ...

It can really mess up your day. Even with all this, I need to pay the bills. That means I have a certain amount of writing that needs to be done each day. And, my house 'really' needs to be cleaned today.

So, what do you do? I'll let you in on a secret. Nothing.

You go pour yourself a coffee. You handle the emergencies. You finish the work that must be done today, and you relax.

I cannot stress how important relaxation and stress control is. I noticed that we talked about it 2 blogs ago. Yesterday, I wrote a blog about a friend of mine who lives in Baltimore. Yes, she really does. Yes, she really exists. And, yes, she really lives in places like the one mentioned in the blog.

She has major deadlines. She can get fined thousands of dollars for missing a deadline. And, she writes about horrific topics. (I know, she asked me to be her crit partner once, but the situations were so horrid that I had to turn her down.) The point is, my friend never stresses. And, she taught me to stress.
