Monsoon is around the corner, but I am afraid.
I love my Madras with all its good, bad and ugly.
But when the monsoon comes to this perennial water starved city, it turns into a nightmare.
Water stagnates everywhere, power fails too often, public transport breaks down, telephones stop functioning.
Usually the monsoon brings with it cyclone that ravages our coastline from mid September to mid December.
And this is called a metropolitan city!
The city administration is now on the move, preparing itself to tackle the monsoon vagaries like American citizens prepare for the winter by doing an online research to buy the right snow blowers, before it snows.
Yes I know about it; my sister in law who lives in Canada, recounted many times of her winter woes.
But I love my Madras with all its good, bad and the ugly.
